Fifty-two certificates of appointment of a diverse nature, most issued to individuals residing in Queens County, and include those awarded to elementary school students for good behavior; those given by religious institutions to individuals who enrolled in their church activities; and those conferring appointments to various posts. Several certificates were awarded to William L. Denton and Rev. James M. Denton and several other individuals bearing the Denton surname, 1860-1906. One certificate was issued to Cornelius James Bergen, 1867.
